Homecoming for West Fargo Soccer Club's Freed
Ericka Freed’s passion for soccer has brought her back home to West Fargo.
Freed, who was named the director of coaching positions with the West Fargo Soccer Club last year, has spent the last 11 months putting her touch on the club she used to play in.
Freed, 31, grew up in nearby Horace and played varsity girls soccer at West Fargo from 1995-99. After an ankle injury prevented her from playing at North Dakota State, Freed got into coaching, getting experience as an assistant for the Packers boys and girls teams.
While working toward a K-12 health and physical education degree at NDSU, Freed also coached summer league teams for the WFSC. After graduation, she moved to Colorado where she served as a soccer coach and academy trainer for the Fort Collins (Colo.) Soccer Club from 2005-10.
